Getting involved

There are now three projects you can join:

Experimental archaeology Coordinated by Randall Rosenfeld, this project aims at emulating historic Venus transit observations using antique telescopes.

Mark that site! Coordinated by Steven van Roode, this project’s objective is to relocate and mark historic sites where transits of Venus have been observed in the past.

Measure the Sun’s distance In the past, the transit of Venus was used to find the Sun’s distance. We will repeat this experiment with modern means, including a nifty phone app.
